I recently started doing yoga and pilates again. I have always done them on and off (mostly off in recent years), but a few weeks ago, while looking for some kids DVDs in our collection, I came across all of my workout DVDs that I used in my mid-twenties. I used them to get into great shape before my wedding and I felt so good about myself at that time in my life. So now after 2 kids and nearly 10 years of marriage, I thought it would be a great idea to step back into a workout routine.
I don’t know about you, but I have never enjoyed going to the gym. I get very distracted by everyone else and I get embarrassed if something is too hard for me, or I don’t know how to use something. But, I have always done well in the comfort of my own home – it really works for me. I am also highly motivated by my BFF who is career-changing and is my new yoga buddy. It’s great to motivate each other!
We started off with one of my favorites, Bethenny’s Skinnygirl Workout. This is a great yoga workout that tones and stretches and basically makes us feel like a boss when we are done. In the middle of the workout, they do the pigeon pose, which if you’ve ever done yoga, you will know how great that feels! Bethenny is funny and very real through the video. She makes the workout feel so attainable.

After a few weeks of our yoga routine, yesterday we popped in another fav; Yoga Booty Ballet. This is a totally different type of workout that gives us that “wow, I need to workout more” feeling (in a good way!). It’s totally fun and is a great change from our standard yoga routine.

We haven’t gotten to this last one yet, but back in the day I loved it. Crunch Fat Burning Pilates was my go-to workout. It’s quick and effective and I feel great after it’s done.
